It’s just too early!

I was cooking dinner on Tuesday, and flipped on the TV.  It’s been a while since I watched television, and was glad that those horrible political ads were gone.  It was just painful dealing with that mess.  But, the pain wasn’t over yet.  That’s right.  On a Tuesday in early November, I saw it.  My first Christmas commercial.  I think I threw up a little in my mouth.  It didn’t stop there.  It was like the Christmas commercial floodgates were opened, and they just kept coming, and coming.  Seriously people, it was November 9th!  I took this with my HTC Incredible.

I guess it’s something I need to start dealing with again…or just mute the TV during commercials, like when the “campaigning” was going on.

On a better note…I’ve been busy, busy, busy!  I just finished up a session with a great model Jazmin who’s engagement photos I took.  I’m working on offering different products and ordered a mini album set from Kiss Wedding Books.  It’s an affordable, fun option for clients which I think will add great value to my sessions.  Coming up also is a Blurb book on portrait photography and on-location lighting, along with planning for workshops early 2011 on the same topic.

See everyone soon, and until then…I’ll be the guy who turns off the TV volume during commercials until mid-January.

Jazmin and Chris – Engagement shoot

I got in contact early last year with Jazmin on Model Mayhem.  We were supposed to do a shoot together, and it didn’t quite work out.  But, Jazmin and her sister showed up at a workshop I was assisting in June of last year.  They were fabulous.  Later in the year, Jazmin contacted me to shoot some engagement photos of her.  Of course I jumped on the opportunity.  But, as every year in Chicago, the weather got cold.  So, fast forward to May of this year, and we finally got the engagement shoot in.

Like most guys, Chris did NOT want his photo taken.  I can’t blame him, I hate it myself.  But, these two were seriously photogenic together.  We started off with a few simple, casual shots:

Next, they changed outfits, and we did a few inside.  As with the entire shoot, there were a bunch of keepers.  But, I love how much this one shows the way they really act with each other:

Thank you Jazmin and Chris for the opportunity to shoot your engagement photos.  I hope I have the bigger opportunity of shooting your wedding next year.  All the best!
